As the leaves turn and fall settles in, we at Centennial Hall are excited to share updates and upcoming events with our wonderful North Hampton community.
From Neglect to Model: A Historic Preservation Success Story
This is what a grant can do. Our restoration work has made Centennial Hall a standout example of historic preservation in New Hampshire that has been widely recognized.
Centennial Hall is sustained through a blend of grants, rental income, fundraising, and community support. Here’s how it all comes together:
- Tenants: We’re grateful to our regular tenants—the Seacoast Academy of Music, Katie’s Buckles, North Hampton Bridge Club, and Centennial Hall Bridge—for providing steady monthly income.
- Event Space Rentals: Hosting weddings, corporate events, workshops, and community gatherings keeps our historic space vibrant and functional. This area continues to grow and offers exciting opportunities.
- Foundation Support, Grants, and the Town of North Hampton: Grants from private foundations and the state play a major role in funding our restoration efforts. However, these grants require matching funds. While the Town has contributed a total of $125,000 in two approved Warrant Articles, private donations and support from individual residents are essential to meet matching requirements. Without proof of strong community backing securing future grants has and will be challenging.
- Individual Donors: We simply couldn’t have achieved what we have without the generosity of our individual donors. Your ongoing support is vital to preserving Centennial Hall’s legacy.
To secure the grants we need for major renovations, visible community support matters more than ever. Your involvement makes a real difference. Our most recent LCHIP award was strengthened by town‑wide backing through approved warrant articles — a clear example of how collective support unlocks funding.

A Hub for Arts, Learning, and Community Connection
Fall is a bustling season at Centennial Hall, with several exciting community events:
- Old Home Day: In keeping with town tradition, we were proud to be part of the Old Home Day celebrations. The Friends of North Hampton Public Library hosted a Community Contra Dance at the Hall on Friday, August 6th to kick off the annual festivities. It was so great to see you all dancing, laughing and having fun in the rejuvenated Ballroom!
- Weekly Bridge Mondays through Thursdays: Join us for Bridge play in the Main Studio, Monday through Thursday — there’s a spot for everyone to get in the game. Visit our website for full details on Bridge specifics: centenniahall.org/hall-happenings.
- Gaming to benefit Centennial Hall: We will be the featured non-profit organization at Beach Club Casino in Hampton Beach. They will be donating a portion of their profits from Monday, December 22 through Friday, December 26, 2025. This is just one more way you can support our efforts to restore our historic Hall. Please spread the word.
- Annual Tree Lighting and Treats at Centennial Hall: Centennial Hall will once again take part in this beloved annual tradition at the beginning of December. Keep an eye out for more details soon!
- A Place for Your Special Events: Are you planning a winter wedding, birthday party, or baby shower? Look no further than Centennial Hall! Our historic venue provides a unique and charming backdrop for your special occasions. We would love to help you create unforgettable memories in our space.
